What is the rabies vaccination schedule after a dog bite?+
The standard Essen regimen is 5 doses: Day 0 (immediately), Day 3, Day 7, Day 14, and Day 28. The Zagreb regimen uses 4 doses. Your doctor will prescribe the schedule — immidit nurses can administer each dose at home.
How soon after a dog bite should I get the rabies vaccine?+
As soon as possible — ideally within hours of the bite. Wash the wound immediately with soap and water for 15 minutes, then get the first dose. Do not delay.
Is rabies immune globulin (RIG) also available at home?+
